The Problem
Do you feel stressed, tensed or tired after working on the computer for a few hours? Does your hand feel painful or irritated during or after holding the mouse? Do you think you might even be developing RSI or mouse-arm?

Good chance you are doing what most people do: you hold your mouse in your hand from the time you sit down behind your computer until the time you get up.

The computer mouse is by far the most used input device. Especially on the web you need it all the time. All the time? Actually, that is not true. If you look at it closely, you only click a couple of times a minute, the rest of the time you are waiting for webpages to load, reading the screen, thinking about where to go now.

And all this time your hand is on or hovering just over the mouse. Your muscles are tensed. And not just your hand muscles, your whole arm, shoulder and upper body!

Holding your hand at-the-ready with muscles tensed is not good for you. After a while you may develop RSI, which is very painful and in most cases irreversible. But it is also just very uncomfortable. Just try it out, if you are holding the mouse right now, while reading this, let the mouse go and put your hand on the table next to it. Feel how you relax? If you need to scroll down, just pick the mouse up, scroll and let go again.

The Solution
So, why not do this all the time? Simply, because you forget! It is hard to think about releasing the mouse when you are concentrating on a task or waiting for a web page. This is why we invented the Hoverstop Mouse.

The Hoverstop mouse feels if your hand is on or hovering over the mouse. If a hand is detected, it starts monitoring if you are actually using the mouse (clicking or scrolling). If you have not used it for 10 seconds, a soft vibration will alert you to take your hand away. If you need it again, just pick it up.

After a while, you won´t notice the vibration anymore. Because it is not visual or acoustic, your mind will not register the signal, but your body will still respond by taking the hand away. Fully automatic, it is called a conditioned reflex.

So, without being disturbed in your work, the Hoverstop mouse helps you to let go of the mouse and relax whenever you can.

The system helps you to relax up to 25 times an hour. On average you will have 10 minutes of free rest each hour. That is a lot of relaxation time. Most people find it not only helps them relax, but also improves concentration on the task at hand, they get less tired and feel more comfortable.
